Özlem Esen’s Bali

Özlem Esen’s Bali

My name is: Özlem Esen.

I’m known for being: A devoted mother to a small girl gang, for being a woman who is in constant gratitude, living life in love whilst thriving to make things that keep me smiling.

I live in: Canggu, Bali, Indonesia.

My newest wellness obsession is: Magnesium Spray and Dream Drops by Alam Farma, my favorite wellness brand—handmade by two friends in Bali who are magicians and create potions full of love. The cryotherapy treatment at the Istanu in Uluwatu

In my city, my favorite place for exercise is: It will always and forever be the beach. There’s something about the recharge of the sand and salt to your body. As far as gyms go, Body Factory in Canggu is unbeatable. Desa Seni and The Practice for all things yoga.

The best spot for body or facial treatments is: Bronze Spa for the deluxe facial, Spring Spa in Canggu for their “From Farm to Face” facial. It’s a delicious moringa and aloe blend.

The Istanu for hyperbaric oxygen therapy.

My favorite local health food store or delicious nourishing restaurant is: We are beyond spoiled in Bali when it comes to healthy restaurants and produce. My go to is the Alive store for the dips, vegan cheese and bread options. Bali Buda is great for kombucha, spicy sauerkraut and Jamu.

My favorite nourishing restaurant at the moment is a place called Good Mantra, a plant-based spot where my friend Dommy is the chef. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu; you can literally taste the love she pours into the food. Broccoli buffalo bites are delicious!

When I want to get quiet, think and/or meditate, I head to: Pyramids of Chi and Akasha in Ubud.

What I do there: Meditation, breathwork and sound healing.

What makes it special and unique is: The variety of events they have and the surroundings.

My favorite local bookstore is: Potato Head Hotel has a place called “The Library.” I would never use the word “sexy” to describe a library, but there is something about the pink neon lights and ambience that sets the mood. The décor and selection of books and records are so well-sought. You are transported as soon as you enter. I could spend hours in there.

When I need to get away, I take a trip to in: Sanak Retreat in Munduk.

The reason why I love it is: It is surrounded by mountains, rice fields and clouds for as far as the eye can see. Sit back with your fresh seafood and traditional local dishes whilst sipping on their selection of French wine, over looking the mountains. It’s like you’re in a living Monet painting that’s ever-changing as the day slips by. The décor is stunning and the fresh air is a change from Bali climate.

The Live The Process piece I’m coveting right now is: I can’t wait for the Eclipse Bodysuit and the Crop Bralette. And the Boy Short in Cream Moonstone is my favorite piece that can be worn anywhere, anytime.
