My name is: Teddi Dean Bennett.
I’m known for being: Yoga Programer at Rancho Pescadero.
I’m hosting a retreat called: Yoga Surf Nutrition.
It’s located at: Rancho Pescadero in Todos Santos, Mexico from August 9-13, 2017.
I was drawn to this spot because: I really love the quiet, beautiful beaches and landscapes of the surrounding area. We have the warm water of the Pacific coupled with the inspiring Sierra de Laguna mountain range. Rancho Pescadero's vibe fits perfectly in this wonderful environment. Nothing is overstated here, thus allowing things to feel very natural.
This retreat is special because: Utilizing all that Rancho Pescadero has to offer was a top priority when I designed this retreat. We have our own beautiful organic farm, so I really wanted to weave in what it means to eat healthy and mindfully in today’s fast-paced world. My yogi partner, Liz Campbell, is also a nutritionist and will be giving practical talks on how to eat healthy and addressing questions guest may have about their specific dietary needs. We have a yoga shala equipped with all the props for a regular vinyasa class or a blissful restorative class. Surf lessons will be provided by skilled instructors at Cerritos Beach. Relaxing massages by the ocean are also included, along with an evening bonfire! I highly encourage all levels to take part in this retreat. Our approach is a beginner’s mind is the best mind!
One thing you can’t miss is: This is a hard one because I would not want to miss any part of this retreat. Surfing, yoga, farm-to-table food, sunsets and warm starry nights—it’s the experience of a lifetime!
Your body will thank you because: You will be immersed in the modalities of yoga, surfing, meditation and mindful eating. Mindfulness techniques will be taught throughout the retreat, encouraging you to be more in tune with your self. A naturalness will arise within you and a coming home back to your body.
I never retreat without bringing: Ritual and intention-setting will play an important part in this retreat, so we encourage guests to bring items of worship that they can add to the altar daily.
Retreating is part of my process because: Retreats allow us to pull back on this forward momentum-driven life and return to the body, the breath and the ground beneath us. These escapes allow us to relearn what it is like to be natural.
