A Moment With April Gargiulo

A Moment With April Gargiulo

Growing up in a family of winemakers, April Gargiulo learned the dedication and passion required to manifest something great.

It was later, while pregnant, that she found her own calling: She looked for result-oriented, all-natural beauty products, but found herself faced with either disingenuous “green” collections or inactive lines.

That’s when Gargiulo set to work alongside industry veterans to formulate her own ideal hero product: Active Botanical Serum. In crafting this phytoactive treatment, she applied winemaking standards of ingredient quality, infusing the face oil with the most active, truly natural botanicals and essential oils that she could find.

Here, she describes why a moment of gratitude each day keeps her on the right path:

Live the Process: How did you first learn about winemaking?

April Gargiulo: I was lucky enough to grow up in a grape growing and winemaking family. It instilled in me a profound respect for the skill, dedication and humility it takes to achieve something truly great.

LTP: What led you to launch Vitner’s Daughter?

AG: Vintner’s Daughter is named after my daughter because it was when I was pregnant that I became aware of the toxins and fillers in the skincare I was using. I wasn’t willing to give up activity and results in the process of switching to natural, so I, alongside industry veterans, formulated Active Botanical Serum. From the start, we set out to create a game-changing face oil—one with the multi-correctional performance and penetration of a super active serum.

LTP: How do you apply your experience from winemaking to creating beauty products?

AG: Fine winemakers make quality and expression the yardstick by which you measure everything. Philosophically, Vintner’s Daughter is no different. We source the very finest and most nutrient-dense ingredients from conscious growers around the world. We then painstakingly combine them to create something far greater than the sum of its parts, and those parts are quite powerful! I would say that once you use Vintner’s Daughter, there is no going back. It is absolutely my desert island product.

LTP: What personal wellness rituals keep you feeling balanced and healthy?

AG: I don’t have a lot of time for lengthy rituals anymore, but I always begin my day with a cup of tea and taking a moment to be grateful for all that is in front of me.

LTP: What does happiness look like to you?

AG: Happiness is spending a day with my husband and girls, preferably outdoors with a good dose of adventure mixed in. Happiness is achieving balance between family, friends, business and me time.

LTP: What does it mean to you to “Live The Process” and how can we all do that more each day?

AG: “Live The Process” is a phrase that deeply resonates with me. I imagine it means something different to everyone, but for me it means trying everyday to uncover, understand and ultimately live your truth. I think its the greatest gift I can give my girls. It’s simple, but not easy.
