My name is: Neil Coletta.
I’m known for being: brand & product manager, food tours for Intrepid Travel.
I'm helping to launch: Intrepid Travel, the world’s largest adventure travel company, has just unveiled three new tours specifically highlighting vegan food culture in some of the world’s most popular culinary destinations: India, Italy and Thailand.
You can find it at: The three new vegan tours, which will depart in 2019, will visit India, Italy and Thailand on eight-day adventures that explore a number of regions in each country.
What makes it special is: Each trip will offer plant-based food experiences in their respective locales and include insider tips on where to find the best vegan eats. While the majority of activities and inclusions are food-focused, each itinerary includes major cultural highlights so that travelers can get a real sense of each destination. For instance, on the India Vegan Food Adventure, we visit the Taj Mahal; in Thailand, we tour temple ruins in Ayutthaya; and in Italy, travelers will see the famous Grand Canal in Venice and explore the city of Rome.
One thing you can’t miss is: On our Thailand Vegan Food Adventure, our travelers stay overnight with a local named Aoi for an incredible homestay experience in a small Thai village outside of Chiang Mai. There, they’ll cook a vegan khantohk dinner including yum tua plu (wing bean Thai-style salad), hed choop paeng tord (mushroom tempura) and more, while local entertainers sing and dance throughout the evening.
Your body will thank you because: Each trip includes delicious plant-based foods that will nourish your body, while also allowing you to connect with locals and learn more about their culture.
