My name is: Kelsey Harper.

I stay physically healthy with: Zoom Pilates classes from my studio instructors at Metamorphosis who can’t teach in person right now. A lot of bike riding recently, as well. 

I keep my emotions balanced with: I’ve been listening to a lot of Janet Landsbury's parenting podcasts; she is my parenting guru and her voice instantly calms me.

I’m intellectually stimulated by: I’m having a new found love affair with my kindle! I have been reading like crazy and I love how the light makes it easy to read outside while sunbathing or in bed at night. I’ve been reading almost a book per day! I also love to puzzle and work with my kids on them constantly. We have a puzzle table from Amazon with sorting drawers, which makes it easy to stay organized and move from room to room with our puzzles.

In the last six months, the ritual that has become so important for me is: I recently started taking my skincare very seriously. I bought an at-home microneedler and fell in love with a new cleanser by Image Skincare called Vital C Gentle Hydrating Cleanser. Both are now part of my routine, in addition to my May Lindstrom Blue Cocoon and True Botanicals Transformation Oil. Microneedling is a dermaroller procedure that uses small needles to prick the skin in order to generate new collagen and skin tissue for smoother, firmer, more toned skin. I noticed a difference after just one try and continue to see results the more that I use it. I couldn’t be more obsessed!

Here’s how you can do it too: I do this once a week in the evening before bed:

  1. Cleanse with Vital C Gentle Hydrating Cleanser and pat dry.
  2. Prepare microneedler by disinfecting with alcohol.
  3. Douse skin with an oil or serum of choice. (I most often use May Lindstrom’s Blue Cocoon, which is thick and luxurious.)
  4. Roll away! Start by rolling over entire face horizontally and then switch to vertically. I typically roll over each area 4x in total, being careful around delicate areas like under the eyes.
  5. Disinfect your roller at the end of your session and store in its case. 

It helps me live my process because: I love trying new things that aren’t extremely expensive or time-consuming. While the idea of rolling tiny needles across my face scared me a bit at first, I threw myself into it and it surprisingly turned out to be a part of my ritual that I really love.
