I was recently transformed by: I think that sometimes the simple things are the most transformational. I recently took a trip with my 8-year-old daughter to see my best friend, Dani, in her beautiful home outside of San Francisco. Dani happens to be an extraordinary healer. Her home is filled with animals, loving energy and crystals, not to mention her beautiful sons and husband, who are like family to me.

Being in her space—just eating healthy food, hanging out, watching my daughter and my bff connect—filled me up. Being with people I love, surrounded by loving energy and healthy delicious food, is just about all I could ever need to transform into the best expression of myself.

In the last six months, the ritual that has become so important for me is: Religiously unplugging in the evenings, early mornings and on weekends to rest my total attention on myself and my family.

Here’s how you can do it too: To create an unplugging ritual, first, pick a time of day to disconnect. Buy an alarm clock, so you do not need your phone on your nightstand. Set an auto response on email if you are anxious about being unresponsive. Put your phone and computer in a drawer, out of sight. Plan to be with yourself and/or people you care about!

It helps me live my process because: I am able to rest my attention on the people and things that are truly important to me, feel all the feels and be fully present in my life.
