Review With Lauren Imparato

MY NAME IS: Lauren Imparato

MY BOOK IS CALLED:

RETOX: Healthy Solutions for Real Life

THE PUBLICATION DATE IS:

Feb 2nd, 2016 with Penguin Random House.

I WAS INSPIRED TO WRITE IT WHEN:

I realized that in all the health and wellness literature out there, there was not one easy, accessible book that examined the problems of modern life (in RETOX I address 20) and provided straight up, effective and realistic solutions. After scouring diet, self-help, yoga, nutrition, religion, fitness and many other shelves, I realized I had to write this handbook for modern living and take into account the lives we actually lead.

IT'S ABOUT:

“Rest to Rage. Meditate to Work. Cleanse to Get Dirty.” RETOX is a 360-degree lifestyle book that addresses some of modern life’s biggest challenges by combining yoga, nutrition, mindset and music practices into one realistic, doable solution. It pulls from my tried and tested I.AM.YOU. methodologies and is applicable to the lives people actually lead. There are no hour-long meditation sessions (for which we do not have time) or steamed kale lunches (which we have no interest in eating). Just straight up, real solutions that actually work for the real you in your real world.

THE BOOK INCLUDES:

60 yoga solutions, 200 recipes, 20 snack and grocery lists, 20 meditations, a music playlist and much more. As I write in the book, RETOX does not change your world; it makes you better within it.

MY HOPE IS THAT READERS WILL:

Find it useful all day long, every day, no matter where they are or what life throws at them. RETOX is meant to make you better in the context of the real, modern life you lead. Hopefully, readers are inspired by the stories, affected by the changes and motivated to tell all their friends, colleagues and family members to #RETOX now!

MY NEXT BOOK MIGHT BE:

RETOX, the sequel, with more in-depth philosophical studies of life’s greatest challenges; with similar easy access, efficient yoga, nourishment and mindset solutions.

THE TITLE OF MY AUTOBIOGRAPHY WOULD BE:

LIVE IT.

IF I WAS A CHARACTER FROM FICTION, I'D BE:

Winnie the Pooh.
