MY NAME IS: Calgary Avansino.
MY BOOK IS CALLED:
THE PUBLICATION DATE IS:
February 11th, 2016.
I WAS INSPIRED TO WRITE IT WHEN:
I had been working at British Vogue full-time for fourteen years and then became a contributing editor to pursue my passion: I had the world of wellness and a book on my mind. I was becoming increasingly aware, through interest on social media and my website, that people wanted to know more about how I cooked, ate and thought about nutrition—and nothing could make me happier than providing people with as much information and, hopefully, inspiration as possible.
IT'S ABOUT:
How to create a healthy, balanced and delicious life for you and your family. Essentially, it’s about the amazing power of eating real food! Not processed food that has been manufactured in a factory, but real food! I’m talking about plants mostly, but this doesn’t mean you have to be vegetarian or vegan; it just means that we all need to eat a lot more plants at every meal. There are loads of ideas on how to do that in these pages.
Also, because we are all so busy, I talk about making the most of your time, what foods to stock in your fridge, freezer and pantry, and how to revolutionize your kids’ eating too. Plus, what would a book like this be without 100 of my favorite tried-and-tested recipes—always easy, quick and delicious?
MY HOPE IS THAT READERS WILL:
Most of all, enjoy flicking through the pages and smile while they learn something new. I hope they will be inspired, encouraged and motivated—and that they will see just how simple it can be to start making changes to how you live and feel. Healthy really doesn’t need to be hard, and it certainly shouldn’t feel like you are depriving yourself.
MY NEXT BOOK MIGHT BE:
Completely dedicated to kids and family. There’s nothing I’m more passionate about than getting kids eating better food!
THE TITLE OF MY AUTOBIOGRAPHY MIGHT BE:
Keep It Real.
IF I WAS A CHARACTER FROM FICTION, I'D BE:
Popeye.
