My name is: Cayli Cavaco Reck.

My stomping ground is: Los Angeles, CA.

I’m known for being: The owner and founder of self-care destination, Knockout Beauty.

You can find it at: Online or one of our four stores in NYC, LA, the Hamptons and Locust Valley.

Before I started this work, I was: I worked in fashion and beauty as a brand strategist.

My interest was sparked when:

My parents were stylists, so I spent a lot of time on set with them when I was little. The hair and makeup artists were always my favorite people. I would hang out with them and ask a lot of questions. I think it started when I was 2 or 3.

The idea behind this is:

We are education and efficacy driven. We teach our clients on Instagram, in master class and in-store. We support them with personalized consults, result tracking and check-ins.

My favorite lesser-known detail is: We offer so much more than a skin consult. A client in the midst of one once remarked that I was a “skin psychic” because I was asking her about things there was no way I could have known. I explained that the skin tells me everything because it is our largest organ and shows us what’s going on on the inside.

What it means to me to create something with intention is:

My mission is to help people love the skin they are in. The skin tells us a lot about our health and is the gateway to our immune system. If we take good care of our skin, we often end up taking good care of our overall well-being. Aging is a privilege not afforded to all, so the idea of anti-aging is not interesting to me. Rather, I want you to feel and look like yourself for as long as possible. My interest is in healthspan, not just lifespan.

I hope that my clients walk away feeling:

Like they are seen, that they and their health matter and that they are beautiful.

The item that I currently can’t live without is: Saro de Rue Freeze-Dried Hyaluronic System. I do wish they would drop the phrase anti-aging because it goes against everything I believe in, but the product is exceptional.

It would make a perfect holiday gift because: It’s something someone likely doesn’t have and it is an almost universal product, meaning that almost anyone can benefit from it. Best part is you don’t need to be a beauty junkie or high-maintenance to think it’s great because it’s literally like a drink of water for the skin that lasts for 72 hrs!

The Live The Process piece on my holiday list is: Another Reverie Bodysuit, or maybe the Leda Cardigan in Mother of Pearl. I love that the Leda is machine washable!

The words I live by are:

I am fascinated by coaches and Kara Lawson, the coach of the Duke Women’s basketball team, would say, “Be someone who handles hard well, don’t wait for things to get easy.” I would add to that that if you are waiting for things to get easy, you may be wishing away moments and time in your life that you will never get back—time with your children, parents and friends. So, my words to live by are: learn to handle hard well.

One truth that is so important, but people don’t always realize is:

It’s often the small manageable changes and habits that create the largest impact and lasting results.
