How To: Watermelon Lime Juice

How To: Watermelon Lime Juice
PAIGE MAYFIELD

As summer approaches, I become increasingly excited for my favorite warm weather foods and few excite me more than watermelon. This nutrient dense fruit is almost entirely exclusive to the summer months and is especially beautifying.

The cold and refreshing character of fresh watermelon is due to its namesake abundance of water. This, along with its high fiber content, make it incredibly satiating and an ideal food for weight management. Watermelon’s high antioxidant and phytonutrient content make it ideal for improving skin quality and preserving youth too.

Since it’s also delicious, here is one of my favorite summer juices:

Ingredients:

2 cups cubed, seeded watermelon (preferably organic)

Juice from ½ organic lime

Pinch pink salt

Method:

1. Place all ingredients into the container of a high-powered blender.

2. Muddle the watermelon to create enough juice to facilitate blending.

3. Process until liquified.
