Sometimes last minute spontaneity is the most fun.

Recently, a quick trip I had planned to LA popped up on my calendar. When I told my friend Stephanie Paine that I’d be town, she generously offered to host a memorable Live The Process-inspired afternoon at her Topanga Canyon home and suggested that the lovely Nico Guilis of Find Your California could capture the spirit of the afternoon.

For me, Live The Process is about creating meaningful experiences during which people really get to connect and escape into a beautiful world, where they can connect back to themselves. We call this, “The Workout Within.”

The event was truly amazing. After all, especially as winter begins, a little self-care goes a long way. The intimate experience included bites by Topanga Living CaféGuru Jagat’s kundalini tool kit, Jessa Blades’ beauty rituals and tea making, Morgan Yakus' elixir (recipe below) and hypnosis, Erica Kmiec of Energy Muse creating her own vortex and gifting clear quartz crystals to amplify manifestation intentions and Kassia Meador's sound healing.

Of course, I can’t go back in time and host you all at the event, but I can share a little something for you to take away from our magical day.

So, here is Morgan’s delicious and beneficial elixir, which incorporates hibiscus for circulation and fluid balance, anti-inflammatory orange for vitamin C and clear skin, herbal bitters for digestion and white chestnut homeopathic flower essence to calm the mind and promote restful sleep:

Hibiscus Orange Peace Tea (2 cups)

1/2 Cup Hibiscus Tea

1/4 Cup Fresh squeezed Organic OJ

1/4 Cup Cranberry juice

1 Cup or less of sparkling water (optional)

1/2 tsp vanilla

1 1/2 tbs maple syrup

1/2 tsp Orange & Clove Bitters

Slice of orange floating on top for additional fresh orange flavor

sprinkle Bee Pollen on top (optional) (energy)

hand full of ice

1. Brew tea: Hibiscus tea, 1 tsp to 1 cup of water
2. Mix all ingredients and stir
3. Add ice if desired

Bitters (you can get other brands, but this one is good):
