My name is:

Avigail Collins.

My stomping ground is:

Los Angeles.

I’m known for being:
A fashion stylist and creative consultant. As well as styling celebs and private clients, I have a carefully curated gift sourcing company called, An Old Family Friend.

I'm talking about:

HEIMAT. A new fitness concept members club in West Hollywood. I’ve been a member since it opened in June.

You can find it at:

In Los Angeles, 960 N La Brea Ave, heimat.com.

Before I joined HEIMAT, my fitness and wellness routine was:

At home, working out to a YouTube video, and swimming or hiking with friends. Since the pandemic, I hadn’t gotten out of this routine until I found HEIMAT.

My interest was sparked when:

For me, it was all about the classes and the fact it’s also open late enough to fit with my busy schedule. I’m a working mum of two, and it’s hard to find time in the day for myself.

I love putting the kids to bed and then going to workout. It’s the perfect time to focus on myself and get ready for the hectic day that usually awaits.

The idea behind it is:

HEIMAT describes itself as a first-of-its-kind fitness and wellness concept club for members to work and play. While rooted in fitness, it’s also fundamentally about nurturing a community and weaves social elements throughout the club. In addition to the fitness areas, there’s a boutique spa, co-working spaces, a rooftop pool and jacuzzi and even a fantastic restaurant by Chef Michael Mina, Mother Tongue, that’s open to the public.

What makes it different is:

It’s really the most beautifully created fitness space I’ve ever seen. It’s an inspiring building to be in, full of colors that help keep a positive attitude and my creative mind flowing whilst I’m working out. HEIMAT is the first space in LA that seamlessly combines fitness, work and leisure under one roof—it’s somewhere members can spend their full day.

My favorite lesser-known detail is:

All the custom-made little table lamps that are so unique! They always make me smile. Martin Brudnizki Design Studio did an amazing job curating the common spaces on the upper floors.

I walk away feeling:

Fulfilled and energized.

Urban retreating is so important because:

It’s a creative space in the center of LA that gives members a unique workout experience.

My favorite retreat I ever went on was:

To Jamaica Yoga at Golden Eye.

The words I live by are:

Be kind to yourself. You need to ask yourself, “Does this support the life I’m trying to create?”

One truth that is so important, but people don’t always realize is:

Just as little as ten minutes a day of exercise can change your whole attitude and mind.
