MY NAME IS: Amie Valpone.
MY BOOK IS CALLED:
Eating Clean: The 21-Day4 Plan to Detox, Fight Inflammation, and Reset Your Body.
THE PUBLICATION DATE IS:
March 8th, 2016.
I WAS INSPIRED TO WRITE IT WHEN:
I healed from ten years of chronic illness (Lyme disease, PCOS, candida, leaky gut, c-diff Colitis, myocitis, hypothyroidism and more), and I realized I didn't want anyone to go through that hell of trying to figure out how to be healthy. I knew I was ready to hand over the keys to others, to shortcut their journeys. The more people understand what an important role they play in their own health, the more they can change the quality of their lives forever.
IT'S ABOUT:
How to detox your food, cleaning supplies, personal care products and beauty products. Many people don't realize that our skin is our biggest organ, so what we put on our bodies is just as important as what we put in our bodies.
It’s also a cookbook with over 200 anti-inflammatory recipes free of gluten, dairy, soy, eggs, corn, peanuts, white flour, refined sugar and processed foods. I take people through a 21-day detox plan and then a 7-day re-introduction process.
The book also has three full pages of every Functional Medicine/Integrative Medicine test that helped me get to the root cause of my issues. These tests were the missing links to my healing, along with removing toxins from my entire lifestyle. That's how I started to heal, and that’s what I'm ready to share with the world to inspire others to address the underlying imbalances in their bodies and get their bodies working for them, not against them.
MY HOPE IS THAT READERS WILL:
Realize that treating symptoms with over-the-counter drugs and other pharma drugs is just a Band-aid approach to life. There are steps you can take to fight the inflammation in your body to help your body heal. My hope is that everyone who reads this book will realize how easy it can be to eat clean, whole foods and learn how to jump start their way to healthier living without unwanted symptoms.
MY NEXT BOOK IS:
Definitely another cookbook. I have so many ideas already! I am inspired daily in my kitchen to create new dishes, and it’s so fun for me to develop new ways to eat clean food that people love!
THE TITLE OF MY AUTOBIOGRAPHY WOULD BE:
Chronic Illness to Vitality: How I Learned to Get My Body Working For Me, Not Against Me.
IF I WAS A CHARACTER FROM FICTION, I'D BE:
Well, all my girlfriends say I'm Carrie Bradshaw (minus all the sex), but, yes, I’m a writer. I also cook a ton and live in the fabulous West Village of Manhattan. Life is good.
