Our names are: Ryan Benoit and Chantal Aida Gordon.

My book is called: How to Window Box: Small-Space Plants to Grow Indoors and Out (Clarkson Potter).

The publication date is: February 27, 2018.

We were inspired to write it when: Clarkson Potter pitched us window boxes as an alternative to a larger “plant lifestyle” book we were shopping. As they say, when one door closes, another window (box) opens.

It's about: window boxes reinvented. Sixteen chapters demonstrate 16 unique arrangements in window boxes—including a stark cactus desert, a tropical box busting out with calathea, pothos and monstera, a box with kitchen herbs, even a gorgeous lineup of spring bulbs like tulips and daffodils. Oh, and our “Window Bog” with Venus flytraps and other carnivores is super fun. In addition to showing you what to plant together, we show you how to keep your plants alive!

Our hope is that readers will: think differently about window boxes. They’re not just about richly cascading florals (though we have those too!). You can use a window box as a stylish way to experiment with your houseplants, your patio plants or what’s growing in your yard.

My next book might be:

Ryan: How to Build a Garden Living Space

Chantal: A collection of short stories about AI and what we share on the internet.

The title of my autobiography would  be:

Ryan: Seeing the World Through Plants.

Chantal: How I Turned Over a New Leaf and Went From Wallflower to Wildflower.

If I was a character from fiction, I’d be:

Ryan: Willy Wonka, but with plants instead of chocolate.

Chantal: Issa from Insecure.
