Guiding Light

Guiding Light

"The best way to predict the future is to invent it.” — Alan Kay.

Lately, what keeps coming up in my life is the concept of guidance—looking to expert individuals to help me in all aspects of life. Depending on what’s going and where I am, I stay in constant contact with different trusted people who can guide me towards center and clarity.

I know I’m not alone in appreciating this particular kind of relationship. For many, the isolation of the pandemic spotlighted the fact that we flourish with the support of others. It made us realize that change couldn’t wait, but that we needed guidance in making those shifts, propelling the coaching industry to the forefront alongside organic hand sanitizer brands and, well, activewear lines.

In the past, I have been lucky again and again to be led to the right person at the right time, but doing the research before finding them is always the hardest part. Yet it’s always worth it.

It’s just innate in me to constantly be thinking about what I want to learn more about or how I can support interesting or important things that are brewing. In my mind, that is the true concept of the coach, whether for health, nutrition, business, relationships—and the list goes on. A coach is someone who teaches you, but who also meets you where you are, who helps you see yourself more clearly. Speaking to and bouncing ideas off of someone who will help, support and encourage us to be our best selves can be truly life-changing.

The great news is that the coaching world seems to be thriving. I feel like I see more people in my wider circle becoming certified every day, often because coaching was so helpful to them that they want to pay it forward and give back. There are so many options.

So, this month, Live The Process is here to point you in the right direction, to help you find your Guiding Light. We’re highlighting amazing coaches of all kinds, who are there to offer an outsider’s perspective, to help create a plan, to help you develop into who you want to be, to help you thrive.

The process begins at the end of your comfort zone. You got this.
