To a Tea

To a Tea

My name is: Anna Morton.

My stomping ground is: Topanga Canyon, California.

I’m known for being: Idealistic.

I'm talking about: My company, Leaves and Flowers. We source and blend loose leaf teas and infusions.

You can find it at: leavesandflowers.com and select retailers.

Before I launched this, I was: A personal assistant.

My interest was sparked when: I first experienced the healing power of plants. I think I was 19 or 20. A family friend made a poultice of plantain leaf, plantago major, for my bee sting (the leaf is used in this way to draw out the sting of an insect bite and to soothe the skin). I was so intrigued by her knowledge and how affective the poultice was. It was the beginning of my curiosity about plants and sparked my desire to learn more.

What inspired me to start this was: A desire to learn from and work with plants.

What we offer is: Herbs and teas that are sourced impeccably and with

care, to create tea experiences that transmit the potency, beauty and purity of flavor in each leaf and flower.

What makes it different is: I think our approach to blending is quite unique. Emily (my business partner) and I both have strong culinary backgrounds. This informs how we formulate our botanical infusions.

Our secret ingredient is: Pure spring water. (Good water is so important in tea preparation!)

A relationship with nature is so important because: We are nature. A relationship with nature is a relationship with ourselves.
