My name is: Tata Harper.
I’m known as: Co-founder and CEO of Tata Harper Skincare.
My expertise is in: Green, luxury beauty.
I stay physically healthy with:
Right now, I see a personal trainer virtually and focus on core strengthening exercises. I don’t exercise to be fit, but to feel both mentally and physically strong. Exercise helps me relax and reduce stress and just makes me feel balanced and level-headed. For me, it’s really the most effective stress reducer.
I keep my emotions balanced with:
I’ve been practicing meditation for about five years and it has kept my emotions balanced throughout this quarantine period. Depending on the amount of time I have, I'll do different things and use different techniques, but I have really found what works best for me. When I am out for a walk on the farm, I’ll do an active meditation and, on days when I have more time, I will do chakra-balancing meditation. Before bed, I relax my mind with visual meditation and, in the morning, I like to do breathing exercises to start my day feeling more centered.
I’m intellectually stimulated by:
TED Radio Hour! I love that each episode provides multiple viewpoints on the same topic and that each episode is different, so you can learn more about anything from space to religion to AI. The Intelligence and The Daily—both of these are great to get a quick summary of what’s in the news and headlines. The Goop Podcast covers a wide range of topics and it’s so interesting to hear from culture, thought and business leaders across every field imaginable.
I was recently transformed by:
Before the quarantine, I was lucky to return to Colombia with my children to visit my family and to be reconnected with the love I have for my country. I am constantly inspired and liberated by the vibrant culture, energetic people and unmatched beauty of Colombia. Experiencing all that it has to offer in person is a transformative experience for me and one that I crave when I fail to visit for a long period of time. I can’t wait to be able to travel back and spend time with my grandmother who I miss so dearly.
In the last six months, the ritual that has become so important for me is:
I’ve been taking this time to find new ways to reconnect and relax. A big part of that is cherishing these extra moments I have with my children and taking the time for self-care. Finding balance is a daily process, but I’ve been loving our anti-aging facial. I’m a skincare maximalist, so I have a lot of at-home facial routines for whatever mood my skin is in. I have been loving this anti-aging facial routine because it instantly rejuvenates my skin and gives me a little mental break at the same time.
Here’s how you can do it too:
I love this skincare routine because it exfoliates, plumps and volumizes to keep my skin looking healthy and ageless. I start with my favorite Glow Getter hack, which uses the Regenerating Cleanser and Resurfacing Mask together to give you double the benefits. To do this trick, first use Regenerating Cleanser on dry skin and then apply Resurfacing Mask directly on top. Massage the products together and leave it on for 5 to 15 minutes before rinsing with warm water. Regenerating Cleanser pre-exfoliates the skin with apricot microspheres, so that the pomegranate enzymes and BHA in the Resurfacing Mask can really remove dead skin cells and buildup and leave you with fresh, glowing skin. After that, I use Elixir Vitae which is our most potent face serum—I call it my daily dose of injectables because it has a complex of four neuropeptides that help relax and diminish the look of wrinkles. I finish the facial with our Elixir Vitae Eye Serum, which has the same neuropeptides plus microcirculation-boosting technology to minimize the look of dark shadows and puffiness. I always love the way my skin looks and feels after this mini-facial; it’s my go-to for total skin rejuvenation.
It helps me live my process because:
Doing something for myself every day that makes me feel relaxed and gives my busy mind a break allows me to see my goals and vision much more clearly.
