The Fix: Sua Park

My name is: Sua Park.

I’m known as: Founder of Feed Your Glow.

My expertise is in: Helping women challenge their limits to get better skin, inner peace and happier and healthier lives.

I stay physically healthy with: Rebounding on my trampoline has been my go-to for almost five years. It energizes me, gets my body moving every morning and keeps me feeling younger. It’s an incredible low-impact workout that’s easy on your joints. But my favorite benefit is how it’s great for stimulating your lymphatic system to help flush out the bad stuff and move excess liquid, cellular waste, bacteria and pathogens. It’s crucial for reducing inflammation, protecting against disease, and healthy digestion.

Fun fact: A NASA study found that rebounding exercise is 68% more efficient than jogging.

I keep my emotions balanced with: Deep breathing exercises are what got me through 2020. It helps me manage my stress and anxiety, which can be debilitating at times. It not only makes me feel calmer, more relaxed and more centered, even in high-stress situations, but helps me better connect with my heart. If you’re someone who gets stuck in unproductive mental loops, it’s worth exploring. It works, it’s free and the effects are immediate.

I’m intellectually stimulated by: I love documentaries. Watching stories of people’s real-world experiences and films that highlight the struggles for freedom, justice and peace gives us the opportunity to deepen our understanding of the world around us and expand our capacity for compassion and understanding towards others.

I also love reading! I’m fascinated by consciousness, energy and alignment, as well as how our minds work, so I find myself diving into different books every week.

I was recently transformed by: Since traveling has been difficult for most of us with the pandemic, I’ve been spending a lot more time in my meditation practice. I’ve been obsessed with learning about brainwave frequencies and training myself to get into deeper states of meditation. That's when you’re completely relaxed, calm, creative and intuitive—when you’re no longer thinking or analyzing but visualizing and imagining in a trance-like state. It makes me feel more connected to everyone and everything and heightens my sense of awareness, attention and creativity.

In the last six months, the ritual that has become so important for me is: My ritual starts with meditation, deep breathing exercises, rebounding and a cold two-minute shower. I do this exact sequence every morning before I grab my phone or talk to anyone. It starts my day off right and keeps me calm, focused and present for the rest of the day.

As for the health benefits, it improves your circulation, boosts your energy and gives you a better stress response throughout the day.

Here’s how you can do it too: The smallest changes can make big differences, so start with one or two habits, then build on them over time. But be consistent. For example, if you want to eat healthier, make it easy. Don’t do a complete overhaul of your diet in one day. Transition slowly by starting with one meal at a time, like breakfast. Flooding your body with healing nutrients first thing in the morning will make you less likely to eat junk throughout the day. The same can be applied to meditation, body movement or breathing exercises. Rather than starting with 30 minutes for each activity, start with five. Make it easy enough that you can get it done without motivation.

It helps me live my process because: Starting my morning healthy—before the day gets away from me—keeps me focused, present, grounded and happy. It helps me live with intention, connect with others better and flow with my day.
