My name is: Shiva Rose.
I’m known as: Author of Whole Beauty; alchemist for Shiva Rose Beauty & Skin; creator of the holistic website, The Local Rose; mama to two daughters, Colette & Charlotte, and lots of animals; custodian of the earth.
My expertise is in: I feel I am always evolving and growing, so I’m not sure I am ever a complete expert; however, my passions reside in health and wellness, beauty, spirituality, beekeeping and the divine feminine.
I stay physically healthy with: A multitude of elements. I feel now more than ever, with all the chemicals in our food and water, we need to supplement. I take glutathione, vitamin C, vitamin D and A and magnesium.
I drink juices daily or try to. I also am making bigger salads to make sure my family gets in their veggies. I’ve been making a delicious dressing with olive oil, tahini, lemon, garlic, herbs, Braggs amino acids and salt.
I resist using plastic, since the estrogen-producing chemicals can wreak havoc.
I take chlorella which helps release glyphosate, which is sadly in most of our food and water ways. I try to eat mostly organic, if I can, by connecting to local farmers. I try to clear my liver from time to time with coffee enemas, which are miraculous. I only use my products on my skin or other lines that are free of parabens and other preservatives that can lead to illness. My beauty line, Shiva Rose, was created to bring chic elegance with plant wisdom and non-toxic protocols.
I meditate and pray daily, usually around 5:30am. I greet the sun with gratitude and kiss the stars before I slumber.
I keep my emotions balanced with: Baths are my daily therapy. After taking care of my child, home, business, animals and partner, I am quite tired. I usually take an evening bath that incorporates my products, a mantra and tea or tonic to rejuvenate. This is my therapy, as is walking in nature.
I’m intellectually stimulated by: Oh, I am loving going deeper on health practices. Right now, I am re-approaching hydrogen water and how it can be so beneficial to our bodies. I also like listening to my dear friends’ podcasts like Expanded by Lacy Phillips and Soundfood by Nitsa Citrine.
I was recently transformed by: Since Covid has hit, I have missed gathering with my sisters. I really keep dreaming of the tea ceremonies we used to do and camping on land in various places.
I have, though, recently moved from California to Texas, and now I truly live closer to untouched, wild land. I went to a giant, magical dome like rock out here in Hill Country called “Enchanted Rock,” and the energy there was so strong and nourishing. I also have loved exploring rivers here in Texas to get my mermaid fixes quenched. I am so excited to go back to Kauai this summer, where I have been going since I was a child. That place holds my heart.
In the last six months, the ritual that has become so important for me is: I have become more in rhythm with the circadian system here in the country. Going to sleep by 10pm and waking up at 530 am has been a blessing that truly sets me up for a successful day.
I wake up before sunrise, drink my tea and, as the sun rises, I pray, meditate and allow the sun to open my being. Sun-gazing for a few minutes has helped me in so many ways. It actually helps your body create mitochondria. I also sun my yoni and truly feel it clearing and magnetizing my lower chakras.
Trying out various formulas I am creating has been such a place of wonder. Right now, I am formulating a pistachio, saffron face mask with various herbs and oils. Taking time to use my products and ask what others want and love has been a joy. I will try the latest creation and then meditate on how it can help others and if it is the time for it to be born.
Following moon rituals from my course, with the new moon and full moon, has also truly set up the rhythm of my days to be more fulfilling and magical.
Here’s how you can do it too: For the new moon, set intentions and make a list of what you want to create in this cycle. New moons are fresh starts and times to begin again. Full moons are times to go over what has accumulated in the last cycle. Take your list, go over it and burn it so as to recreate a new cycle. You can also add various elements to your altar for the full moon or new moon. Certain flowers, herbs, fruits, crystals and more.
It helps me live my process because: I feel when we create ritual in our lives, we are living with intention. This makes everything more conscious and, therefore, more meaningful. Simple moments of creating connection to a ritual can give all we do more meaning and more heart. I love the quote by Albert Einstein where he says, “There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.” I feel by living with intention and purpose through rituals in our daily life, we are taking a moment to notice and reflect on the miracles.
