My name is: Daniela Kocianova.
I’m known as: A fashion model and contributing editor at Vogue Czechoslovakia.
My expertise is in: Hmmmm—this one is tricky. I am not sure, to be honest. I'm still searching.
I stay physically healthy with: Swimming, getting good sleep and drinking water. I am currently obsessed with indoor swimming; I try to go every day in the morning. But I cant wait to start jogging and practicing yoga again.
As I get older, I’ve also noticed how getting good sleep is really important for my body and mind.
I take supplements too, if I don’t forget—ha! I take B12, vitamin D, vitamin C and Omega 3-6-7-9 Oil Blend from Terranova and a couple more.
I would also recommend being careful with eating processed sugar. I know that we have all probably heard this many times before, but I have noticed that, if I eat processed sugar, my skin can break out. I still crave junk food sometimes and, when I do, I snack on dry dates, chocolate Oatly milk and even spoonful of peanut butter.
BTW, for anyone living in London, if you love eating seasonal fruits and vegetables, look up OddBox. They save wonky produce from farmers and deliver a box once a week to your house. I know there are companies in other places with similar offerings, so you might investigate that in your area.
I keep my emotions balanced with: Sports and healthy food. I’ve noticed that, if I run and eat healthy, my mind is calmer and my body is nourished with good stuff. I also use an Essential Oil Roller with CBD from Brothers Apothecary because it helps me to focus and smells really good.
I’m intellectually stimulated by: Going to galleries, doodling, taking pictures (though I’m bad at it!). My favorite galleries in London are White Cube, Gagosian, Lisson, Serpentine and Tate Modern. I would highly recommend visiting any of them next time you’re in the city.
I enjoy sketching silly self-portraits and people around me; and I love going to Muji to peruse their stationery corner for new sketchbooks. I recently signed up for a Danish language class, and I have to say that Danish pronunciation is something else. But I love it! It feels so good to be back in school.
I was recently transformed by: Learning more about the golden ratio, a mathematical concept which can be applied to flowers and plants. To be honest, even with my little knowledge, the number 1.618034 is fascinating! When I look at plants now, I can’t get enough of their perfection.
In the last six months, the ritual that has become so important for me is:
Drinking tap water. I was quite shocked after watching the “Troubled Water” episode of Rotten on Netflix. I also have been really happy with Weleda products since they announced their special recycling program with TerraCycle in the UK.
Here’s how you can do it too: You can just drink tap water too! But, on a larger level in terms of taking care of yourself, life is marathon; not a sprint. Stay patient and try to understand your body. Question everything and work towards your goal.
It helps me live my process because: Life is so fast. It’s good to slow down sometimes—and breath.
