For me, the expression “clean living” encompasses all aspects of life—from what you eat and put in your body to what self-care and cleaning products you use.
This idea of keeping the body as free as possible from toxins is something I started thinking about over 20 years ago. My interest and commitment to the concept started small and has grown exponentially. As with most lifestyle shifts or new ideas, I found I was able to collect information as I met more and more people with similar ideals, doing my research as I went. As is often the process, my understanding and amassed knowledge has evolved over time.
Eventually, I began to realize that it’s not only nutrition and the foods we consume that set the foundation for health—it’s down to what we wash our clothing in, what we slather on our bodies from skincare to sunscreen, even the water we bathe in and the water we drink.
All of these factors contribute to building a truly non-toxic lifestyle. And I think it’s about time I share some of the discoveries I’ve made in this realm most recently, tapping into big ideas and personal stories from some of the experts and innovators in the clean arena. Hopefully, this bit of information can get you started without overwhelming, contributing to spreading consciousness so that more and more people can take safely care of themselves and their families.
This month, we are focusing on people from all walks of life who have established their own “Clean Living” brands or who are focused on spreading the word and setting examples in their own day-to-day. Because it is a lifestyle, made up of myriad small choices every day, that makes them feel healthier from the inside out. The deeper you delve, the more you’ll actually feel the difference in your own life.
Clean living is a holistic approach to living, a show of self-respect. With all of the toxins out there, there has never been a better time to learn how best to protect yourself, as your body is the only place you have to live. It’s so important to look after it to the best of your ability.
