My name is: Lou Sagar.
My stomping ground is:
I live on Great Jones Street just off the Bowery in NYC, across from the fabled artist studio of Jean-Michel Basquiat and some of the best food in town at Il Buco.
I’m known for being:
I am the founder of The Alchemist's Kitchen. I like to think of myself as the CEO (or “Chief Experience Officer”) with a merchant’s passion for experiential retailing and merchandising to educate, enliven and entertain customers with a sensorial vibe and something out of the ordinary.
I'm talking about:
Unquestionably, there is a groundswell of demand for how we can improve our sleep with plant-based formulations. Our Sleep Well tincture, which we launched this past December, is just the right blend for restful sleep and lucid dreams.
You can find it at:
The Alchemist's Kitchen which is our apothecary located at 119 Crosby Street in Soho.
Before I launched this, I was:
I have always been a trend surfer with an intuitive knack for what my community is seeking for personal growth. I realized that it was important to reacquaint people with the power of plants, as a way to support my prior and ongoing activism for sustainability and social change.
The idea behind it is:
We found that during COVID there was a sharp increase in demand from our customers for a safe alternative to pharma products for sleep and stress.
What makes it different is:
The innovative feature is that we are blending the finest cannabinoids cultivated with botanical seeds grown organically, featuring CBD and CBG. This is the result of new techniques in extraction which have helped us realize tailored solutions for sleep deprivation or difficulty calming the body at the end of the day.
This helps promote sleep because:
The unique blend of cannabinoids relaxes the body and relieves stress and anxiety.
My favorite lesser-known detail is:
My favorite way of expressing the benefits is that when we sleep better, we are revitalized and our dreams become more alive and lucid. Plus, the CBD tastes really great!
Sleep is so important because:
It is essential for optimizing mind body, and spirit.
My bedtime ritual is:
Listening to long philosophical podcasts and falling asleep.
