Shewitchy, Bothered & Bewildered

Shewitchy, Bothered & Bewildered

My name is: Frankie Nicole.

My stomping ground is: I stomp around my little east LA bubble—Chinatown, The Arts District downtown, Echo Park, Silverlake, Highland Park, Mount Washington.

You can find me at: Stories Books & Cafe in Echo Park, Kreation Organic Juicery in the Arts District downtown, Please and Thank You vintage store in Highland Park and Sage Bistro. Many places.

I’m known for being: I guess I’m most known for the way I express myself through my appearance. My clothes, my hair, my glasses, etc. Although I’m not really doing anything. Just being. I throw things on and run out, usually. It’s all about what feels good. Clothing, like everything in the world, carries energy. It depends on my mood and what energy I’m embodying that day or that moment, actually. Mixing that with the clothing or accessory. You know, just living life as an alchemist.

I'm talking about: My herbal potion line, Shewitchy.

You can find it at: On instagram at @bewitchy.life or via my website www.sheswitchy.com

What brought me to LA was: Just being nomadic, really. I had come out to LA from Texas while in college for a semester on an exchange program. I have family here. My mom and older brother were actually born in LA. I, however, was born and raised in Texas, for the most part. I graduated from college and kind of went wherever the wind blew for awhile, working on different types of projects and odd jobs and, eventually, made my way to LA.

Before I launched this, I was: Working as a story producer in reality television. Which was not the best for a highly sensitive person like me. I did it for many years, though. You can say I’m officially burnt out on all things Hollywood/industry.

What inspired me to create it was: I created this line first as a means to heal myself. I grew up in a very unhealthy environment. My parents were on drugs. Lots of trauma happened. I had anxiety, PTSD, etc. I was just coping—barely! And living with it for years. Thinking that’s just how I am. But, one day, I decided I wanted to change. So, I started looking into natural ways to heal the mind and body.

The idea behind it is: Getting to the root of the problem. Healing from the inside out. Which is the only way to heal for us all to be on our highest vibration. Which is our authentic self. Even if your behavior rubs others the wrong way. You choose yourself by never suppressing yourself. That’s giving you the validation, support, self-love that you need and desire from the world. You have to first give it to yourself. How you show up for yourself sets the tone for what the world is gonna throw at you. You gotta have your own back. And let’s say, because you’re sharing your authentic truth, a fight happens. Maybe you lose a friend. But you grow from that. Real growth. That’s how we evolve to our highest selves: living authentically.

What makes it different is: How personal each potion is to me. The products I offer are all things I first created to heal or nurture myself. They worked. So, I decided to share them with my loved ones as gifts during the holidays and birthdays, and now they’re available to all. I’m healing myself and sharing the overflow. That’s real abundance.

One thing you can’t miss is: The intention, the care, that goes into each bottle. I handcraft everything in ceremony and then I bottle it and label it. My hands, my love, the power I possess goes into everything I’ve created. It’s coming from a place of healing. A full cup. Running over. Which creates a secret golden strand of abundance woven throughout. It’s all a very powerful healing spell.

My favorite secret detail is: The real magic in each potion. Alchemy, numerology, the specific words, all intentionally chosen as signals to your subconscious. It’s really about shifting our vibrations. As we each heal ourselves, we heal the world.

Today’s LA isn’t all breast implants and Beverly Hills (like the stereotype). It’s more like: Today’s LA still fits the stereotypes. I’m not gonna lie. LOL. My mind was blown when I first moved here. Not in a good way. It’s still an amazing place to be despite all the phony, “What do you do? How can you benefit me?” interactions. For one, the weather: I mean. The landscape. And just how progressive most people are. You can be your authentic self without being crucified for it. It’s just about staying on your path, you know? Sometimes, we get thrown off of our square, looking around at others. But, with focus, you can be and do all you dream to be and do.

What helps me live my process in LA is: This isn’t specific to living in LA, but starting my day with gratitude helps me live my process. Gratitude is a real life magic spell. It has the power to shift your entire being. Like, when I used to work in reality TV, I’d be at my desk starting to spiral down the road of complaints and then I’d remember and say, “I’m just happy to be here.” I used that as a mantra to shift my mood in an instant. It really works. Especially when I think about where I started. I was literally born into hell. And I overcame so many traps set in place to hold me back. Just to be here at this moment. I could be dead. The air I breathe is a gift. I hope we all remember that. I hope we all remember what we came here to do.
