My name is: Dr. Dain Heer.
My book is called: The Return of the Gentleman (September 2018).
My background before becoming an author was: Before writing this book, and for over a decade, I’ve been a chiropractor, best-selling author, speaker and the co-creator of Access Consciousness, which has allowed me to provide others with the resources to deal with issues like the ones found in my most recent book.
I was inspired to write it when: Today, gender relations are at a crossroads. While there are many valuable conversations supporting women through this journey, our culture is also facing a masculinity crisis as we redefine views about manhood and what it means to be a gentleman. This book answers the question: Can a man be honorable, kind and caring, as well as potent? First and foremost, being a true gentleman is about being the greatest you can be as a man—whatever that looks like for you—and this book is full of tools and strategies to help you get there.
It’s about: An honest exploration of today's masculinity crisis. It encourages readers to get away from toxic self-judgment and provides a blueprint for guys to create nurturing relationships with themselves and others.
The most unexpected takeaway is: You’ll explore how you may be cutting off parts of yourself to fit into the boxes of others’ expectations and how to end the separation between men and women. The book supplies effective tools to let go of toxic beliefs, clearing the way for new, authentic experiences in your life; and it uncovers how to step into your greatness.
It’s a game changer because: There is no one having this conversation! We believe we can either be a stereotypical macho male or a SNAG (sensitive New Age guy)—but I’m here to tell you that you can be caring, kind, value women and their rights, but at the same time enjoy sex and be sexual. There has been a shortage of role models and also a lack of resources. However, I want men to know they can have it all! They can be more than the fixed, rigid expectations society puts on them. This book has so many tips and tools, including inspiring the next generation with three gifts a gentleman can give to the children in his life.
My hope is that readers will: Will discover that the new masculinity calls for both our strengths and vulnerabilities. Men need to shake off their self-judgment and know that they are not wrong! That it is possible to have nurturing relationships with other women and men! And what would it take to like the man in the mirror? You are the change this world requires. What if you are willing to embrace your difference, stand up for yourself and start recognizing the gift you are?
My next book might be: The Baby Dragon Manifesto (April 2019);
The Rise of the Dissatisfied Dreamer (late 2019).
The title of my autobiography would be: I’m The Weirdest Person You Will Ever Meet. And I’m Here To Stay!
