A Review of “The Perfection Detox”

A Review of “The Perfection Detox”

My name is: Petra Kolber.

My book is called: The Perfection Detox: Tame Your Inner Critic, Live Bravely, and Unleash Your Joy.

The publication date was: August 14, 2018.

I was inspired to write it when: I realized that perfection was not my friend and saw that many of the women I worked with also struggled with the burden of “enoughness.”

I had thought the pursuit of perfection was helping me soar, but, in reality, it was keeping me in a box. I ended up turning down so many speaking and on-camera opportunities because of the fear that I would not be “perfect enough.”

After going back to school for Positive Psychology and doing 10,000 hours of work with women all around the world, I realized I had a unique methodology that was easy to understand and implement. And it was very effective in helping people tame their inner critic, live bravely and unleash their joy.

It’s about: dropping the false narrative that to be worthy, we need to be perfect. Whether you struggle with toxic perfectionism, wonder if you deserve a seat at the table or struggle with your confidence catching up to your career, this book will help you let go of what is no longer working in your favor. It will gently guide you back to the truth of who you always were before anyone told you that you were “too much” of this or “not enough” of that.

My hope is that readers will: feel less alone after reading The Perfection Detox. I hope they’ll feel more connected to their truth as they turn each page, and feel lighter and more joyful as they finish the last word in the book.

My next book might be: Double Digits (55): A Year of Living Truthfully or 12/12: What Authenticity and Love Looks Like Around the World. This would be based on my dream goal of traveling to 12 countries in 12 months in 2020.

The title of my autobiography would be: She Gave It Her Best and Then Let It Go

If I was a character from fiction, Id be: Wonder Woman—the Gal Gadot version.
