We all have them in our lives: Empowered women who we are drawn to in times of challenge or exploration. For me, it’s that intoxicating life force energy that propels me towards them; that divine feminine power. Time and time again, these strong, fearless, connected beings appear as teachers and mentors who help me connect back to myself. I have had the incredibly good fortune to meet so many of these special women over the years and they all have contributed to helping me develop my own relationship to “The Divine Feminine.” At this moment in the world, it feels quite timely to honor them, as they walk among us offering the empathy, nurturing and connection we all need.
Over the course of these past uncertain months, I have found it incredibly important to take care of myself, offering consistent assurances that good things are in store. I know I am not alone. It’s been a deeply difficult stretch. There are many ways I have explored to reset myself and reinstate a sense of balance and wholeness. A common phrase that I am sure everyone keeps encountering is “doing the work.” Though the expression has been commercialized, it speaks to something essential about putting in the effort to look after yourself, value yourself, care about yourself and know your own self-worth. Though it’s not always easy, we are being offered a new world experience, one that has forced us to slow down and take a hard look at who we are; one that has enabled us to go inward instead of looking outward.
The concept of forward motion as self-exploration enables you to feel powerful, loving and caring and allows you to trust and have faith. This is where the concept of the divine feminine comes in, a kind of compassionate energy that defies gender in literal terms. A person who finds her path from the inside out, through love, feels freedom within. It is time to feel your feelings, instead of disconnect, and then release them with out judgement. It’s about finding safe spaces and developing a true essence of the spiritual feminine that can begin to flow through you. These emotions you are feeling are a source of goddess wisdom and, by honoring them in yourself, you are able to tap into this feminine energy.
Intuition is the gift of the sacred feminine soul. You know without knowing how. Trusting and acting upon your intuitive impulses is vital in unlocking the deep power of your spiritual nature. This is a time to create rituals and sacred spaces, which begins at your home, and connect with your body wisdom through yoga, food, bodywork, anything thing that can lead to this connection. Find stillness through meditation. Take a gentle walk, read poetry, write, listen to music, dance or treat yourself to a healing session. It’s your job to create the intention to invite connection.
This month, as the days shorten and we continue to weather a turbulent storm, we hope we can offer our support and guidance through the stories of impactful women who have not only done the work, but can help us understand how to do the work too—connecting to the loving nature of our divine feminine energy.
Take care of yourselves and each other. Stay safe and strong.
