Good Gratitude

Good Gratitude

“We wait for our lives to get better and it takes the joy away from the present. Heaven is a state of mind, not a location.” — Wayne Dyer

For the last few years, I have kept a gratitude journal.

Every morning, when I wake up, I list ten things for which I am grateful. This keeps me focused on the bright side right from the beginning of my day, setting a positive tone. This ritual is a tool I learned from the teachings of Bob Proctor and so many others, as well, because it clearly works.

Gratitude is a state of being which creates this powerful connection to the universe. It’s really easy to be negative, to think, “Poor me, I don’t have what I want.” But gratitude teaches us that we actually have what we need at any given moment. It’s just the way the universe works. Life may not be fair all the time, but navigating its ups and downs is an opportunity to exercise resilience and thankfulness. Acknowledge the good, as they say abundance will follow.

Gratitude also correlates to being open in the present moment, to experiencing life in a way that projects positivity while creating magnetic energy. It’s practice that is ideally integrated into your life daily, to improve your daily life. Even meditating to the word “gratitude,” however you personally define it, creates high level vibrations within your being, so when you do go out into the world, what you put out will come back in such great profusion.

Compassion and gratitude are very closely related as they work together. Living with these guiding principles in all areas of your life—from how you walk the earth to caring for yourself and others—is essential in creating your own particular experience.

Always have pure intentions, as creating your own sacred space is part of the process. Be thankful for the small things and observe big things that arrive in their place. That’s what we like to call “living your process.”

This month, we’re spotlighting people—in all walks of life—who integrate gratitude as a North Star, learning about their practices and tools, so we may all live lives filled with abundance and high vibrations.
