My name is: Nicole Berrie.
I’m known for being: Author of Body Harmony and founder of Bonberi Mart.
Before I started this work, I was:
I used to work in magazines—ELLE and then Vanity Fair. For me, food was always a personal exploration; I loved experimenting in the kitchen as a child and throughout school. As an adult, meals always represented a way to connect back to myself, my childhood and my pleasure. I’ve never thought of myself as someone who wants to guide others. For me, it’s about living my true authentic self, and I’ve come to realize that can inspire others to do the same.

My interest was sparked when:
I battled compulsion around food, drugs and alcohol for most of my pre-teen and teenage years and, for me, most of my adult life focused on healing from those compulsions. I became a voracious student in all modalities of healing and that sparked my interest in creating a blog to share what I’d learned along the way.
The idea behind it is:
Body Harmony, which just came out in May 2022, is a guide to intuitive eating through plant-based food combining. I love enjoying and experimenting with cooking. I also love thriving through a cleansing lifestyle, but I’ve found that the two are presented in a mutually exclusive way. This book seeks to bridge the gap between indulging and experiencing pleasure and joy around food and also provides nourishing, cleansing recipes that help you reach top physical vitality.
My favorite lesser-known detail is:
We design a capsule collection of shop merchandise with an illustrator in Melbourne that has become a cult favorite. I'm excited to expand our offerings in the spring!

My favorite recipe for winter is:
It’s so important to follow your own lead because:
I like to think that my recipes, book and platform motivate people to begin their healing journey on their own terms and ignite their intuition to lead them. I don’t like providing a path or telling people what do do, eat, cook, etc. It’s more about providing the tools and also showing up as my authentic self and hopefully that inspires others to do the same.
Constant exploration and evolution is so essential because: We are ever-evolving and the challenges and goals that motivate us are ever-changing.
It can help you become: Humble.
The words I live by are:
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.” — Marianne Williamson.
One truth that is so important, but people don’t always realize is:
The true cleansing life is not about what we add into our regimen or put into our bodies, it’s about what is removed. This is true for our physical self, but also our emotional and spiritual selves. We are intrinsically divine beings and the healing path is simply about removing the doubt, fears and accumulated trauma to get back to our most true vital selves.
